flutters of paper

okay, so DEAR ME I'M OBSESSED WITH PAPER #26,541 occurred this morning when i realized i'm almost out of my Dots & Jots stationery (that i bought at Borders about 4 years ago, mind you, i have a hard time using things i really love). i noted the designer, Denyse Schmidt, and stuck the remaining papers in my bag (still in their original plastic case) so i could Google her and find out where i'm able to get more Dots & Jots.

having implemented and completed this mission, i found a new paper / fabric / craftsy products site: http://www.reprodepotfabrics.com/. surprisingly, many of the products i saw, particularly some of the stationery, were very reasonably priced. i consider this a find, because most of the time the paperthings i really love, are on the expensive side. pas bon marche, the french would say.

anyway, here are the lovely Dots & Jots ( i shrank the image, for a larger version just click on it):

and much to my delight, Denyse Schmidt also makes a "Dottier & Jottier" line:

i think that's cute. Schmidt doesn't have an exhaustive collection by any means, but i like her stuff. it's whimsical without looking cheap and thrown together. as it should be, since she went to RISD. (if you want to see her stuff on the site i mention above, it's under the "gifts and home" section.)

anyway, not much to say today about deeper things . . . i feel slightly overwhelmed by my emotions. this is probably due in part to the fact that it's That Time (yes, the P Time) and as long as i've been getting my freaking period, i am always annoyed with myself for acting / feeling uberfemale when i get it. i just hate feeling out of control.

is it strange that whenever i go to TJMaxx (which is a lot less often now that i'm poor, which means i can control my shopping tendencies, which makes me proud) i derive a perverse joy from the fact that all the handbags i deem worthy to earn a glance at the price tag are, on sale, at least $70? i'm a bargain hunter because i like the challenge, and now by necessity. however, it appears i have naturally expensive taste.

talk about control.

i find comfort in the fact that someone else also keeps their stationery in the cellophane wrapping in which it originally came. ah... it's a sweet smelling breeze of organization that just fluttered by.
