vintage violet: i'm in love

technically this should be a she loves post, but given my circumstances* today, i'm posting it here. sometimes you just have to abandon all your own weird personal blogrules about what should be posted where and go for it. HA. i love revealing to everyone just how much of a dork i am.

i never thought i would compromise . . .
{ bjork }

but i did. and i am. so i present to you the small things i'm loving right now:

ohhhhh, how beautiful! such deep purple color and unique shapes! i'm usually more a fan of clean and simple lines in kitchen things (and most other things too) but this little set speaks of artful feminine royalty to me. i'm a february baby, and having never embraced (or really liked) the color purple, for various reasons i resolved to steep myself in the color amethyst this year. once i dipped my toe in that pool, its magnetic pull had me diving in its depths in no time. and i want these wonderful glass objects! since i'm not a coffee freak, i'd probably store various other tidbits in them: spare buttons, safety pins, poems written on receipts . . .

*my circumstances: each monday, i employ various self-defense techniques against the monsterdragon that is the beginning of each week. i know i could just try to employ a better attitude about mondays, but i'm clinging to my youth and hating them just like i did when i was still in junior high (and high school, and college...). due to this personal life choice, i must find ways to brighten the (mon)days. i have long enlisted favorite colors and particular outfits, songs, and food to combat the dread that monday brings, and today this is what my suit of armor consists of: "Purple Passion" fingernail polish; my amethyst Too Good To Be True ring from Plume; a dark purple boysenberry cardigan; a lighter purple tank; fuschia-purple suede flats; my birthday handbag, a gorgeous grapelike thing with horse saddle detailing. so, in three words: VIVE LA VIOLET.
