further untitled randomness

fact: when i was in college, i taped Lucy Liu's face over all my school ID photos.
fun: no one ever noticed! Lucy checked out library books, ate meals, and buzzed in late to her dorm for 4 years.
interesting: this proves one of two things . . . a.) to most people, all asians look alike, or b.) i strongly resemble Lucy Liu. or both. i'll take option b.

[or a third, more likely option: the ID pictures were so small and college employees saw so many of them in a day that they never really looked at them for identity verification purposes. whatever. Lucy Liu is gorgeous and if i resemble her in the slightest, i'm pleased. sometimes you just gotta take what you can get.]

another fact: a new look is in the works for this lovely little blogette o' mine (i.e. i've been scouring the interchutes&ladders for acceptable new banner images) and i'm pretty excited about it! i've loved the banner i have now for many months, but it's time for something fresh. i think i'm getting closer to finding and making something i'd be proud to fly under!

i know many of you visit this space via Reader, which doesn't show template or design changes, so when the newly dressed "speaking for herself" debuts, i'll be sure to let you know :)

finally . . . the world is full of heavy news lately, both worldwide and my own worldwide. there are serious things happening, friends. and in times like these i'm reminded to appreciate the time i have on this earth, to do what i love, to fall asleep thankful, to take my time with things instead of trying to skim the surface of too big an ocean. there are times to put myself out to sea and times to simply stand ankle-deep in a quiet brook, and i pray for the wisdom to discern the difference and act accordingly.

love,
she

That's fantastically funny!

I would have never had the nerve in college to change my id photos but I wish that I had.
