1 } ever since watching sense & sensibility (the emma thompson & kate winslet version) last night, i cannot stop thinking of people as "dearest". i'm just saying.
2 } i am back in my own state after being in her state, but in a rather truncated way. the "customer service" representative (she really shamed all who bear that title with her) forbade me to check my suitcase on the way back (LONG story involving a forgotten wallet, the blue angels air show, and other unfortunate events), so i frantically stuffed what i could fit into my (not very big) back pack and fled to the tarmac before she could forbid ME from getting on the plane. therefore i'm home, but without most of my clothes, many of my toiletries, and 1 of the 5 pairs of shoes i took. on the to-do list for today is to figure out how the #$%&@ to get my stuff back from 1500 miles away. i think i'm gonna have to FedEx it, folks. not too pleased about this.
3 } i have pictures --- i do --- but half of them are stuck on the camera (the USB cord is in the suitcase) and honestly, ever since i touched down in the midwest around 12am Sunday morning, life has felt like one relentless deluge of . . . of something. i have so many thoughts that have precipitated since coming home, and more are sure to come. i'd like to share these with you as they cross the threshold of my soul. i know you'll be listening.
4 } so mostly what i want to say is, i'm alive, i'm back where i'm supposed to be, i'm missing my berry-pink suede flats and hair straightener, and THANK YOU for all your happy, generous comments on my Facebook updates last week. it warms me up inside to know there are so many of you who rejoice in my rejoicing . . . and it was a joyous week with my sisterfriend indeed.

annie h: i'm NOT giving you a going-away present. there's NO way i'd want to make leaving me a positive experience for you in the slightest. aren't i selfish?

Oh I HAVE an idea.....at least if there's going to be trauma we can trauma through it together.......
AND about that customer service representative (---------------) which is exactly why I pretty much refuse to fly ANYWHERE anymore. She's lucky that RW had the good sense to escort me outside. Lucky.

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great time. That's pretty lame about the woman who wouldn't let you check your suitcase! I hope everything gets solved quickly for you.
But if I don't move, who will you visit in Scotland? Also, who will be there to introduce you to a plethora of Scottish men? Thanks right. No one.
