{ pour faire }

there's so much swirling through my mental geography these days that i finally sat down this morning to make a harried list. i think it's pure craziness that i think i can avoid life by refusing to tangibly acknowledge it. so these thoughts dominate my waking moments, but if i don't give them "real" voice by writing them down, somehow they can't reach me? ridiculous. but to my credit, i've faced many difficult things for endless days over the past 4 years. sometimes i just need a little bit of denial.

in any case, i was looking for something this morning and was literally stumbling into/over piles of mail, unread magazine issues, clean laundry, and clusters of mismatched shoes. i realized (after almost wiping out face first into a closet door) i had to start facing some of the more manageable projects in my life. so i made a free-form, non-organized, stream-of-consciousness list. after looking over it just now a couple hours later, its contents were so random i just have to share. we could use some lighter fare around here :) so without further ado, here's my official to-do list, completely unabridged and uncensored:
  • back up files on laptop
  • mac?
  • fix brakes?

  • Wilkie Collins woman in white

  • wash rugs

  • jennifer

  • lake geneva? aug

  • dad's bday
  • letters

  • NARS

  • az?
  • seattle?
  • dc?

  • egg salad

. . . wtf? this just goes to show you that i'm seriously going mad. now excuse me, i've been wanting to buy japanese washi tape for ages and i do believe the time has come.

I wish you were coming to visit me this weekend - this list just screams essential She-ness to me and makes me miss you even more.

I bet you could combine a few things if you washed your rugs in Lake Geneva with Jennifer and a picnic of egg salad.

Oh, and please decide to get your brakes fixed.

I'm going to go ahead and vote for "Seattle" over "Egg Salad."
