color therapy || she
my current job is manageable in many ways, intolerable in others, but the hardest part about it is the mondays. we've actually shortened our hours, but it's still almost an 11-hour day sitting at the same desk doing the same thing for a freaking long time. in the wintertime, i'd layer up as many textures and colors as i could find to keep me interested and alert from 8am-7:30pm. the summer obviously presents temperature challenges to this coping method, so my focus these past few months has been donning as many colors in as few layers as possible. discovery: i can wear up to 3 colors on my nails and not break a sweat --- and multi-colored jewelry racks up the hues quite easily, too.
as i continue to compile a wardrobe that suits my still-in-process style, i often find that people remark on how i might be wearing "all purple" one day or "all blue" another. i think these people assume i intend to match colors, but the truth is, once you've been buying purple pieces for a few years, it's really no mystery that 3 out of 5 pieces snatched from hangers are some shade of purple. i figure i'll let people continue to think my color palettes are intentional...no use shattering their lovely illusions of me as a put-together person.
i won't tell if you won't.
