somehow this is all i have to say tonight. bjork has always made me feel fiercely alone. at the same time, i have always felt she fiercely affirmed knowing oneself. for me, it took being alone to know myself best. what a gift.

lovely to see you, new friend...and you summed up bjork well...she haunts in a very solemn way, reminding me of the ferocity of solitude - and the self-awareness.

on bjork: i listened to her in the dark the other night. no one makes me feel more:

listening to her is like eating one of the small green bugs that turned the peach into a giant peach; you know you're going to become enormous and float off into space.
at least that's how it all seems to me.

Also, on an unrelated topic, I just glanced at your "our labor of love" link and I must confess, said photographer is THE VERY BEST wedding photographer who's work I have had the pleasure of witnessing. Ever. Bar none.

jsl - yes. you understand the hollow but complete fulfillment of bjork's zephyr (vespertine) self. i am glad to know she made the "sad and lying in the dark" playlist - she is perfect for that. when i was in saskatoon, i fell asleep each night to vespertine. it was so perfect for the wintry landscape. also, i'm glad to know you find the labor of love work as unique and irresistible as i do!
