there's paint in her hair...

hello dear people, i have news.
i am moving (for the second time in 5 weeks) on Saturday.
i painted last night. for the first time.
my hands ache today, but it was worth it
because MY ROOM IS TURQUOISE.

after scouring my favorite design blogs, i came across these 2 photos of the same room, and i think they're pretty darn close to the color i chose! it's a darker more opaque-looking turquoise in lower lighting, but when the sun is shining, it brightens right up! the trim is white in the bedroom, as are the closet doors, so it's an extremely refreshing foundation for the space.

it's Behr Paint & Primer in One in Clear Pond. i was painting over a rosy purply mauve, and with 1 1/2 coats (i may or may not have spilled some of the paint) it covered quite nicely. the second coat was slightly sparse, so i hope it dried all right. i guess i'll see when i go back!

now that you have THAT in your mind's eye, allow me to introduce the following image . . . my soon-to-be new duvet! now mind you, the color of the walls is not in the duvet (funny, because it seems just about every other color in the world is!). this particular photo shows the duvet against a lighter turquoise rug and i still love the effect. the pattern and colors on this bedding might be way too busy for many of you, but as far as i can tell, it's perfect for me! (if i get it and dislike it, the Pottery Barn lady assured me i could return it to a store and they'd ship it back to the warehouse for me at no cost.)

the moving process (which has been going on since august) has been so stressful and frustrating for me that i haven't really gotten excited about the new space until now. i think the fresh start with bright colors and vibrant patterns is going to be so good for me.
