etsy makes fridays even better.

JOYEUX VENDREDI, y'all. i mean, really. there are weeks and then there are Weeks. it's been a Week. and the best part of Weeks is that after you've weathered one of them, the weekend seems all the more sweet when it comes. so thank you, Weeks, for providing contrast in life. for making the good really seem good.

there are many, many things that i love. and i am learning to consider purchasing less and less of those things . . . because it's smart to save. and because as with the Phenomenon of Badness and Subsequent Contrasting Good of Goodness mentioned above, the things i really want and save for and think hard about buying mean that much more to me when i'm not buying everything in sight.

however.

when it came to the DARLING phone case above, i could not resist. i did not want to. so i did not. and while i've now discredited any of my efforts at self-discipline, i don't care. because i just got a new $500 phone (put your jaw back up! i didn't pay that much for it, i enslaved myself to a cellular provider so i could get it for less!) and it already has a couple teensy scratches on it after about a month of use . . . and it has to last me about another 2 years . . . and you KNOW it will bother me beyond belief to use a $500 phone that's all mangled for even the last 6 months of my contract, knowing i could have prevented its abuse.

(for the record, the scratches came from a smooth stone i smuggled out of the great state of Idaho, which i stowed in the designer handbag i purchased in Idaho (i like to categorize my personal belongings), but forgot about . . . i wondered how the HECK i'd scratched the stupid phone already, seeing as i have not dropped it in a parking lot or used it to flip my grilled cheese sandwiches!)

so i did a search. i found the treasure.
it hails from Spain. end of story.

how are you kick-starting your weekend?
any fancy gorgeous Etsy action?

Ooooh weekend. Even though I have to work tomorrow, there is something about Fridays nonetheless...Dragging myself to yoga (that sounds so bad) to get it started. Really, I am happy to go, but after a horrendous commute home, all I want to do is curl up with a particular beverage.

Hope you have a delightful and relaxing weekend!

Emily

Oh, and it didn't start the weekend, but the week DID have an etsy transaction of Miss Plume's postcards.

No gorgeous Etsy action here....just 8 new hammers and some sea spray in my hair.

That is beautiful.

I don't know which expensive phone you have, but if it's an iPhone, I'd recommend getting a static cling screen protector (they sell them at the apple store). It's saved my phone's ass way too many times, plus it keeps the touch screen from being covered in fingerprints.

I didn't buy those mustard gloves on etsy, but I found some similar ones yesterday at Target, and today at Buffalo Exchange I found a mustard dress, mustard belt and linen capri (pajama?) pants with some mustard accents... all 50% off. (Photos forthcoming.) Hope you're feeling the yellow love ;)

emmy: "a particular beverage" --- pray tell ;) and i say, anything from the plume is sure to lift the heart.

plume: EIGHT new hammers? you go girl (gnome).

g: i do have a screen protector (the poor salesman convinced me into that much) but i haven't been able to subject myself to one of those clunky rubber cases. i just can't. mustard is certainly in the air! and yes. i feel the yellow love. and i want to see those photos...

I managed to leave the computer and Etsydom for the whole weekend BUT we picked out our puppy. And that was all i needed.

In my experience, the bodies of these phones are much more durable than the screens-- I have an ugly, clunky rubber case, but never use it anymore. In your purse is probably where it's likely to suffer (and inflict) the most damage (-- the vibrate button on my iPhone badly scratched one lens on my glasses when I had them in the same pocket together!).
