for instance: who knew how easy it was going to be to simply put those new toiletries away in the linen closet, thus eliminating the perpetual rustle of grocery bags piled in front of the loveseat? (on a related note, who knew how long it would take to finish that bottle of shampoo once you've purchased its replacement?! it's like it's hanging on for dear life.)
so because i'm proud, and because this tale of newly-found motivation might inspire someone out there, and also because i haven't shown much of my home (consisting of a small bedroom in a townhome somewhere in the midwest): here's one of my recent projects.
bulletin board || sheif you know me, you know i love to collage. everything. i'm fascinated by peoples' work spaces and inspiration boards. i'm also a catalogue junkie.
this bulletin board has sat against the wall behind my door for a YEAR . . . since i moved into this place last november. it hung in my old place (my own place) and housed movie tickets, concert stubs, plane tickets, and handfuls of life from that time in my life (a very happy time). i couldn't dismantle it when i moved, so i wrapped it in an old sheet and tied it up with twine.
well 365 days later, the time came for me to make it new:
1. it was time to dismantle the still-precious, but now-irrelevant, old collection of mementos.
2. my necklace collection was becoming a hopelessly tangled mess.
so i decided to make an inspiration board upon which i could hang my necklaces.

i love the finished project; it really corrals a handful of dreaming from my head. (i realize these are only partial photos - if you're interested in seeing the whole board, speak up and i just might have to give you a more complete look!)
so --- do you have any hibernation projects you've been working on?

A year? I can hardly believe it's been a year since you moved in. So the revamping of a collage, filled with NOW and BEAUTY seems like the best sort of anniversary project for you.
Plus now that I know, I may have an addition to the board for you.
your board looks fabulous and I think its so good for you to have something to look at each day that reminds you of the things you love and look forward to NOW instead of then.
sending happy vibes :)

coincidentally I am also in crazy cleaning mode this week. it is a good time!
