{ makin' it big...maybe }

so i thought i'd take this opportunity to say something complimentary about myself, since i spend so much time saying kind of self-deprecating, if not outright meanie, things about this person i can't seem to get away from (um . . . yeah, that would be myself).

i was just doing a frenetic blog catch-up (rabid only b/c my boss might cut off my hands if he catches me on the internet, and because i'm waaaaay behind after not being online all weekend) and saw this outfit on the Brooklyn Blonde.

and . . . okay. get ready for this.
fine, it might not be a big deal to you.

(how's that for an ultimatum? and such a useless one, because how the heck am i gonna know if you kept reading or not? because i know the heart, people. i will know.)

reasons this outfit post gave me pause:

1. my nails are that color (Sally Hansen's "Blue Me Away").
2. my military-inspired jacket is that color.
3. my lips are that color (light corally (not a word) pink).
   

DUDES. i'm totally a style blogger and i didn't even know it. only i'm a super-fabulous style blogger because i'm sporting the exact same colors as the Brooklyn Blonde even though:

1. i'm a lowly secretary
2. i don't have a patient significant other who will take my photo every day
3. i don't have three million followers or even enough a following to have Foley + Corinna send me a complimentary Mid City tote like they did for Christine, Taylor, and Kimberly.
   
   okay, wait. that didn't end up sounding like a list of reasons i'm super-fabulous. in fact, now i just feel pretty lame. but if being a lowly secretary without a patient boyfriend and zero outfit photos or blog sponsorships = super-fab, then i totally and completely am just that.
   
   so for the sake of this being a self-positive post,
   we're just gonna end this on that note.
