{ one day i'll fly away }

the red balloon || mrs eliot

i saw this print during what i'm going to call my "morning pins*" (she does morning pages, i do morning pins, i think it's the corporate office equivalent of morning pages). it struck me immediately and made me want to scroll back up, even though i was moving very quickly through the first several entries in my Google Reader. something about the collision of the imagined with the real, black and white with color, resonated with me in ways i can't really put into words. or maybe i don't want to put it into words, because it wasn't meant to be expressed that way. usually i'd want to articulate why an image stuck out tome and what exactly it meant, but i'm going to resist that tendency today because i believe this was simply meant to be felt.

do you ever feel this way?
she

*if i can steal a few moments when i first get to work, i open my Reader and open a few entries that strike my visual fancy. then i start pinning. i've stayed away from Pinterest for so long because i thought it was cluttered and overwhelming like iheartit or very difficult to uncover original sources like tumblr. on the contrary, it's organized, visually pleasing, and original sources are readily available. best of all, with the Firefox toolbar widget, transferring images is lightning-fast and easily doable, even under the watchful eye of a meddling boss. pinning here and there throughout the day has become the latest cure for a rabid case of deskdom insanity.

Yes.

In response to the question at hand. In fact, I think that has been the rhythm of this whole last week.

Also. I just can't get behind a site called "iheartit" because it looks JUST like "i hear tit" and promise, I'm not sure I want to know where that goes.

What? You are not using Chrome yet? Mozilla is sloooow.

And I want to marry pinterest.

umber: i can always count on you to say something with a twinkle in your eye that's kinda inappropriate but completely true...and i love that about you.

mme.: chrome? what? at work i use a computer that has Microsoft Word 1993 loaded on it. it's a wonder i can even access the internet on it. it's a constant source of vexation for me. and Pinterest had better be polygamous, because i want in on the nuptials too.
