well, it's day eight and it may seem to you that my world is a riot of unbridled color and pattern. i can assure you this depiction and description are 100% accurate. i'm not just pulling my brightest and wildest for this project; it's just the way things are and the way i am.
for years i only wore navy blue and forest green...with a pair of lavender and crimson jeans thrown in every once in awhile, but goodness was i withdrawn. i didn't have the confidence to wear colors at all, much less colors that actually looked good on me. later in life i went through a phase where i wore mostly pink --- don't gag, at least it was an improvement on forest green! in a way, things have evened out since then, but in another way, they really haven't. i'm so glad bright colors (even neons!) and patterns, and mixing the two in whatever way you feel expresses yourself, is celebrated right now in fashion.
and i'm so glad i finally know and see myself well enough
to feel it's good and right for me to shine so bright.*
