{ i always wanted to be somebody }

i get really (really, really) disgusted with our culture's obsession with celebrities. (to be fair, i myself fall prey to a creepy fascination with what angelina is eating and what jennifer is wearing sometimes.) i also get really fed up with celebrities themselves, until i remember they're normal people in abnormal circumstances and if all of my eating habits, bad moments, and neuroses were broadcast ad nauseum i'd seem just as intolerable.

the short clip below reminded me in a different way how "celebrities" are/were once very normal people living very normal lives. they are human. they came from somewhere. and some of them came from further away than others.

personally i think tears of disbelief and gratitude are a completely acceptable and appropriate response to the privileged life of an actress.
