to cool my scroogey jets on this subject, i will now focus on this bathroom featured on one of my favorite blogs. i want this bathroom. i need this bathroom. i even need 2 sinks, just so i can choose which one to use on any given day. my current living situation lacks much color, variety, or elegance; let's just say all the doors and trim are a DULL GREY because the owner thought the grey was white and never bothered to paint over it. it gives everything a slightly dirty, visually off-center look because the walls are a strange taupe-like beige-mustard. yeah. gross.
mosaic heaven || found on House of Turquoiseso yeah, i need this bathroom. i need it now. maybe if i take a few days off work (and rob a couple banks) i could have this done and nothing could be done but accept it. now wouldn't THAT be a scroogerific thing to do . . .
time to eat some crackers and read Harry Potter for lunch.
sincerely,
she-scrooge

i have to say i am right there with you this year...
i'm glad i'm not the only one!
I'm one of your married friends and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day. I always thought it was dumb.
"cool my scroogey jets" GUFFAW.
you funny...
I feel like being a total HAMMMMMM for vday this year, and I think it's because I never loved it, celebrated it, or did anything but wear black for a week to commemorate it.
So, here's all my cheesy love from seattle to chicago.
SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCH.
and heart-shaped pizzas.
You made me giggle today with this post!
Valentines is to me, lame, ridiculous, and (I love it when Americans say) Cheesy..!
My husband and I make everyday special without Hallmark cards or heart shaped balloons.
And I love what you said about platonic love - for true friendship is at the heart of any kind of love, and that should be celebrated everyday with a smile and a giggle.
So thank you friend.
xx
thank you married friends for being normal, and funny, and for not taking offense to my irreverent treatment of this day. your laughter is a balm to my soul.
I hear ya! And I'm tired of all the valentines treasuries on Etsy! I just wish the holiday wasn't so narrowly focused on romantic male/female love, red+pink, hearts, etc...
But here's something that might cheer you up! We're having a giveaway on the Westervin blog! You could win a print from Justin Richel. (I saw you entered the Paper N Stitch giveaway for another Justin Richel print). Just leave a comment on this post: http://www.westervin.com/blog/2010/02/01/giveaway-a-fungus-among-us/
I hope it goes to a good home!

Isn't it grand that Valentine's Day is on a Sunday this year? That should limit the exposure.
Valentine's at our house is all about the kids signing two dozen cards so that everyone in their classes gets one and baking cookies to take to school.
Do you need cookies?
v day sucks. but i do like cutting paper hearts for my 2 little nieces, although not necessarily for that holiday. and i do love the color combo of red and fuschia on any other day of the year besides feb. 14th. I'm married but can't stand the pressure that's out there in the world to be all romantic and gooey. not for me. no thank you.
I have a very special V-day card just for you that I've been saving for no less than four months. I'll be popping it and all that into the mail today.
