thank heavens for abbreviated work weeks.

found this image on House of Turquoise this morning and it really did something for me. the white, the ceiling, that bench, that lamp. (every time i see a statement lamp like this on a blog or in a magazine, i smile to myself --- i recently procured a large turquoise lamp very much like this one for a seriously discounted price at TJ Maxx.)
i also like the door slightly ajar. it adds a hint of potential movement and anticipation to the image that would otherwise be a static, stationary scene.

with that in mind (and with a little flutter in my ribcage), i wanted to give you all something to think about and anticipate . . . as this blogette of mine nears 10,000 visits, i feel like i should commemorate that somehow. i'm not sure precisely what i'd like to do, but i've decided i'm going to do something. i've never done a giveaway here before, but part of me balks at that because i'm not sure what i'd give away . . . i'm not outstandingly talented at making something in particular with my own two hands, but that shouldn't keep me from putting something together, right? so i'd probably compile a little package of goodness, a handful of samples from my letterpress collection, some poems written on the pages of fashion magazines, perhaps a mix CD? nothing hugely spectacular, but it would certainly be one-of-a-kind :)
in any case, i still have a few hundred visits to go until this milestone approaches, so perhaps i'm jumping the gun . . . but when it comes to presents and celebrations, i have a hard time keeping still. believe it or not, despite the fact that there are literally BILLIONS of blogs in cyberspace, i harbor a wild dream that one day i might live off my blog somehow.
yeah.
talk about wild.
but, anything is possible.
right?
talk about wild.
but, anything is possible.
right?
so that's the news for now --- stay tuned :) oh, and i wonder what doors in the entryways of your life might be standing slightly ajar in this season?

Congratulations on almost 10,000 views! That's amazing. My blog has been stuck at 24 for the longest time! (Maybe because there is nothing on there yet, ha.)
I just realized I haven't clicked through to follow your blog, even though it's been on my google reader for as long as I can remember. So, I just fixed that. (Sorry this comment is so late.)
hello miss holly!
blogging is a strange thing...sometimes you get no response to a really heartfelt post and sometimes you get tons of feedback on something you never thought would spark peoples' interest. go ahead, blog, see what happens... :)
thanks lady for following! it humbles me to think you find my chaotic introspection worth reading. may i ask how you found me? it's so nice to have you!
